Twenty-first Sunday after Pentecost preparation

November 6 is the twenty-first Sunday after Pentecost. The readings and collects from the Free Church Book of Common Prayer and a Universalist prayerbook follow. Oh, and for last week, after the jump, which I forgot. Sorry. (Oh, and readings for All Souls follows.)

Free Church Book of Common Prayer (1929)

O Almighty and most merciful God, of thy bountiful goodness keep us, we beseech thee, from all things that may hurt us; that we, being ready both in body and soul, may cheerfully accomplish those things that thou wouldest have done; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Epistle: Eph v, 15-21
Gospel: Matt. xxii, 1-14

A book of prayer for the church and the home (Universalist, 1866)

O Almighty and most merciful God, of thy bountiful goodness keep us, we beseech thee, from all things that may hurt us; and so prepare our spirits, that we may accomplish whatsoever thou desire of us, and approve ourselves in thy sight as humble disciples of thy Son Jesus Christ. Amen.

Gospel, Matt. xxii. 1.
Epistle, 2 St. Peter i. 2

For the twentieth Sunday after Pentecost.

O God, forasmuch as without thee we are not able to please thee; mercifully grant, that thy holy Spirit may in all things direct and rule our hearts; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Gospel: Matt. ix, 1-8

A book of prayer for the church and the home (Universalist, 1866)

O Almighty God, who hast built thy Church upon the foundations of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the head corner-stone; grant us so to be joined together in unity of spirit by their doctrine, that we may be made a holy temple acceptable unto thee. Amen.

Epistle, Ephes. iv. 17.
