I know this is going around, but this kind of list is useful for the pinched-faced zealots (pro-Bible or anti-) who need a reminder that the Bible is a mixed bag and more interesting than usually described.

A good thing about living in a culturally Catholic country is that almost nobody has read the Bible and therefore all these quotes (and others) are unknown. But most people have seen Charlton Heston playing the role of Moses, and this is what they know about Exodus. Therefore, God bless Cecil B. de Mille!
