I linked it from my LiveJournal on 8/29, and also donated. In addition, I sent a little nudging e-mail to Amazon.com, asking that they link to the Red Cross for this disaster as they did with the tsunami.
Another thing to consider is donating credit card points; for example, Amex lets you donate points (which they translate into a cash donation at the rate of $5 for every 1,000 points) to charities, including the Red Cross.
