Boy in the Bands
Not-so-live blogging Thanksgiving dinner
Made crepes according to Julia Child “The Way to Cook”. Used some of the clarified butter from the crepes to put a sear on the parcooked potatoes and squash. Cooked remaining onion and mushrooms in clarified butter, too. Thinned the gravy and strained over the mushrooms.
Reheated crepes, added slivers of cheese, filled with mushrooms and topped with gravy. Served potatoes and squash with gravy. Heated green beans and served. Put out cranberry sauce in its traditional cylindrical shape.
Dessert? Later, reheated more crepes in even more clarified butter. Filled with apple butter or pumpkin butter, fold and serve.
I well recommend it.

The Boy in the Bands is a record of the passing thoughts of Scott Wells: keeping an eye on the Unitarian Universalist Association, suggesting church administration hacks, and adding his bit for sustainable living in Washington, D.C.
