Hard to get stirred up about the proposed sale of the Beacon Hill properties

I imagine the continuing notices that the Unitarian Universalist Association’s Beacon Hill “headquarter” properties may be sold will cause a stir. I see it as a continuation of the heroic but interior mode the UUA leadership has trapped itself in; that is, it’ll resolve little and must surely frustrate the work-a-day programs that congregations and ministers need. But I don’t feel an emotional tug. It feels like that expression of institutional Unitarian Universalism is fading away, and I would rather work with other institutions, even much smaller ones, if they have a brighter future.
