GA 2007: Japanese representatives

Glad to see the Buddhist, Shinto and New Religious Movements representatives from Japan greeted in Plenary II. But where were the Japanese Universalists? I know they’re small, but were they invited?

The Rev. Keisuke Takai, Minister Doojin Christian Church 3-10-9 Mejirodai Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo 112 Tel: 0427-33 1519 home: 03 3943 1879 Rev. Shigeo Akashi 5-14-10 Kitazawa Setagaya-Ku Tokyo, Japan 155 (from ICUU “other group” page)

A particularly sore point, since the ICUU members were described as Unitarians.

  1. Derek responds:

Regretable treatment of the Japanese Universalists, I believe YET AGAIN. But there seems to be a history of shabby (or at least insensitive) treatment from American UU’s over the last few decades. At one point since 1970, weren’t the Doojin Christians mocked at a conference for being “too Christian”?

  2. Jaume responds:

And Dr. Gene Reeves, former dean at Meadville, lives in Tokyo and collaborates with the Tokyo Unitarian fellowship there and with Rissho Kosei-Kai.

    Who are the “NRM representatives”?
