A calm, unclouded beginning for “the gay issue in church”

I usually avoid “the gay issue in church” on this blog because I feel like gay persons (myself included) are being scapegoated as “the problem” for evangelism and church unity, while bigger issues (in evangelism and church unity among others) sit fallow.

I don’t like the storm and smoke “the issue” usually generates. I’m also not hopeful for a resolution and am plainly disgusted by the hand-wringing some mitred Episcopalian and Anglican heads indulge in.

Yet there is a glimmer of hope. Two bloggers (here and here) I respect point today to Kim Fabricius’s “Twelve propositions on same-sex relationships and the church” — indeed, so well measured his words that I look forward to reading his propositions on other theological subjects.
