Watch “History of Oil”

I think you can be deeply concerned about peak oil — and make a good case for it having passed — without sounding like a lunatic.
Peak oil or Hubbert’s peak is that moment in history when half of all the world’s oil supply has been consumed, presumably the half that’s easier to extract and refine. [...]

Today is Car Free DC day

Almost every day is Car Free DC Day for Hubby and I — we don’t own a car and we both routinely walk to work, but today is officially recognized as such, and I hope it become an annual event.
But if the concept is new to you, consider taking public transportation, a carpool, biking or [...]

Microformats on Unitarian Universalist sites?

Does anyone know of (or apply) microformats to Unitarian Universalist Web sites?  Might be good to be ahead of this before the release of Firefox 3, which will support them natively.

Our day at the lefty “county fair”

Doctor Who sponsorship: the Unitarian Universalists?

So guess what denomination was a sponsor for Doctor Who tonight, the geek-affirming Unitarian Universalists? No. The United Methodists, with one of their well-made and gently affecting spots.
Instead, the new Unitarian Universalist national campaign — the first in decades (hat tip: Philocrites) picks up Time magazine. Time, really? That just seems so, well let [...]

The Universalists’ question on Colbert Report

Later. To see the clip, go to The Colbert Report site and view the James Martin clip. The question I reference is at the very end, but if you like Colbert’s humor, you might find this whole clip funny and interesting. I don’t think I can imbed it.
Did anyone else just catch Stephen Colbert’s [...]
